\tReaders, The EOFY Edition - Funding Strategies Connect June 2019
\t
\tDear Readers,
\tWelcome to the June 2019 edition of Funding Strategies Connect!
\tSince the last newsletter we have had the Federal Government returned to office, and with a “sluggish” economy, the Reserve Bank has cut rates by 25 basis points. In terms of the overall economy, inflation is sitting at 1.3%, housing prices are in decline as are loan approvals. Consumer confidence has dropped due to concerns about a slowdown in the economy even though we’ve had a rate cut, and business confidence has increased due to the Federal election result and the rate cut. Even though business confidence has increased, business investment and conditions remain weak. Globally there continue to be uncertainties around the global “trade war”. Finishing on some positive news, the ASX is up, closing at 11 year highs with traders banking on further rate cuts and unemployment falling.
\tFrom both an “issuer” and “investor” point-of-view we have seen delays in clients making decisions during the election period, but we are now seeing increased activity post the election. We have run a number of strategy sessions for clients helping them with their business models and helping to work on putting “roadmaps” together to assist with programs of work linked to raising capital and use of funds. We are also seeing increases in folk looking for investor marketing and distribution. On the investor front we have had a number of convertible note opportunities paying good yields for companies with strong balance sheets. If you are an investor or an issuer please get in touch and see how we can help.
