Our team enjoyed attending the "series of events and activations that are designed to take attendees on a journey to all corners of our digital, innovation and tech ecosystem."

Eugenia reported:

"On Tuesday morning, we had a Meta speaker who showed how the Company is developing products for people with disabilities. Also, he showed the size and important of the disability market and how the general population has benefited from products or services design for disabled people (e.g. Close captions).

Furthermore, the first session was with Alondra Nelson, who used to work at the White House, and showed the US progress in the AI legislation. "

Mitchell says:

"The Tuesday afternoon session of Something Digital had some insightful speakers and was a great chance to connect with a range of people from Government and Councils, to digital companies and start-ups.

We were welcomed into the thought process behind NASA's media, by Brittany Brown, and how they interact closely with their audience to provide interesting and unique space science content. Brittany also highlighted the importance of flexibility and pivoting to adjust to the constantly changing trends in social media as well as in how we consume media, relating strongly to running a business and keeping in touch with and staying on top of the market.

There was an interesting discussion on AI, and how it can be used authentically to provide efficiencies to businesses as well as provide value to clients / customers.

We also had a very unique deep dive into the sound design for Bluey from Dan Brumm, the sound engineer. Dan explained the extensive and unique process that goes into creating the masterful array of sounds in Bluey to keep adults and children alike, contained in the story, an often neglected part of video story telling."

Shirley attended Monday and the last two days:

"Monday's main event was the Industry Papers Series and panel discussions. A few points that were covered:

  • Supply chain sovereignty through manufacturing domestically.

  • Circular economy to meet ESG needs.

  • Government procurement to encourage local manufacturing through 'good enough' rather than '100% compliant' policies.

  • Quantum received attention but AI, Robotic are equally important. "

On Thursday, we had Simon Breads from Culture Kings to share his journey to develop a hundred millions dollar business. He highlighted the importance of knowing the current financial numbers at all times.

Most speakers' topics highlighted how their businesses empower humanity.

Today is the AgTech showcase including the AgTech startup showcase, and the headline speaker and events to follow this afternoon."

Mark summarised:

Something Fest – Something Digital and Something Tech: It was good to get an update on latest trends and to network with the business community.

From my side the content was interesting – met some investors and possible clients."
