Cross Border Panel - Bridging the proximity capital divide

This article is from Unspecified for Financial Services

The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), the Australian Indian Business Council and King & Wood Mallesons recently held a crossborder panel discussion between technology companies, investors/venture capital funds and investment banks in Australia and Silicon Valley.

Hosted by KWM, the panel was conducted via live video conference between the Silicon Valley, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne offices.

The panelists provided an overview of the landscape of venture funding in the US and Australia, followed by a deeper dive into three topics:

  1. The US as an expansion and funding market for Australian companies

  2. Australia as an expansion and capital market for latter stage companies

  3. Inbound Australia transactions involving the expansion of venture funded companies into Australia in search of an expansion market.

The hosts were aiming for collaborative discussion, connecting the physical presence of panelists in each jurisdiction in the hopes of addressing proximity capital hurdles.

Below we have included some images and slides from the event for your information.
