The BioCube Corporation is pleased to announce that it has won the prestigious Global Innovative and Friendly Energy Solution Award at the recent Biofuels 2014 Conference held at The Mansion, Hyatt Regency, New Delhi, India from 5 November.
The Award was presented to BioCube Corporation Director, Mr. Laurence Baum by the Honourable Minister of State for Railways Shri Manoj Sinha.
Bestowed by the Biodiesel Association of India, the award recognises the contribution of the BioCube as an innovative means of providing clean zero effluent technology to produce high quality biodiesel from renewable sources that improves India’s energy independence at a commercial and community level.
Mr. Baum later spoke at the conference about the opportunity for distributed biodiesel processing in India through the BioCube and BioCube Plants. He stressed that India is a priority market for BioCube Corporation and that the company has been operating in India for a number of years, working closely with Indian partners. Earlier this year BioCube Corporation signed an agreement with Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd (KOEL) to manufacture and support the BioCube and to explore local distribution opportunities. BioCube is an active supporter of ‘Make it in India’.
Mr Sandeep Chaturvedi, President of the Biodiesel Association of India commented:
“The Biofuels 2014 Conference is the premier event in the country for the Indian biofuels industry. Attended by the highest level of government and the commercial biofuels industry, it provides a top-level platform to discuss technology and developments in the biofuels sector. The BioCube was singled out as an innovative technology worthy of recognition in providing, a clean, sustainable alternative energy solution that can be readily adapted to the Indian marketplace.”
Mr Baum added: “The BioCube can enable commercial and local communities to become more energy independent. It creates sustainable wealth creation enterprises. It is transportable, can operate on or off-grid, is easy to operate after a short training programme – and it’s affordable – costing a fraction of even a small bricks and mortar refinery. It uses renewable feedstock sources to produce high quality biodiesel that can be used directly in any modern diesel engine. Biodiesel, even in low blends of 5% can significantly lower harmful emissions and help tackle environmental pollution problems that plague developing nations everywhere.
BioCube Corporation CEO, David Tait said:
“This award is recognition for the investment we have put into developing our technology and we are grateful to the Biodiesel Association of India for it. Congratulations to our Technology team and to all those who are helping it become a reality in India and elsewhere”.
